Team of 90 students
The chief event of Walk With World, Abhigyan is an international student conference wherein a cluster of renowned personalities grace the event with their interactive lectures and experiences. Walk With World is a student-run organization of the KIT institute. It has become a national platform for students all over India to listen and interact with the leading minds of today. Abhigyan 2017 had previously set a benchmark by gathering an audience of 1200 people (students and professionals) since the beginning of the Abhigyan.
For Abhigyan 2019, my responsibility as a Branding Head was to establish this event's impactful presence in southern India. As the head of a team of 18 volunteers, I worked towards developing an elegant multi-facet brand image of the event by collaborating with the other events' other committees.
The branding strategy we implemented included - analysis of previous years to find the type of audience in focus, establishing a presence on social media through competitions & merchandise giveaways, engaging the attendees by bringing transparency about the progress of the event through social media, day by day reveal of posters & promotional videos recorded by the guests/speakers, designing eye-catching graphical content (starter kits, flyers, posters, banners, social media posts, stories), venue arrangements for a seamless experience like the stage, screens, food court, registration counters, etc. The graphic design team continuously worked to maintain a consistent theme in every aspect of communication to the audience. We also meticulously worked out the event day strategies like team behavioral codes, micro-level event schedules for different teams to ensure flawless execution, and a comfortable audience experience.
As a result of this strategic execution, the participation count skyrocketed to 1800+ entries with the closing of entries 12 days before the event. This had never happened in Abhigyan's history before. Looking at the feedback from the audience, sponsors, guests, and speakers, I could confidently say that we succeeded in creating a positive and long-lasting impact of Abhigyan on the audience and the organizing team who made it possible.
